No, seriously, I’ll be gone. Out of here. Unless you’re one of those people who reads blogs in the evening, in which case I’ll probably be home.
Bright and early, in fact at the time this post is scheduled to be published, I’ll be hitting the road, headed for the coast. Our summer has had its climatic ups and downs, but at least we’ve got the benefit of it extending through the month of September, it seems. And so I shall be at the beach, looking for some good surf.
I’ll probably snap a few photos, and I’ll keep my eye open for any seals, and after I’m done surfing I imagine I will eat a lot of barbecue, because fighting the ocean all day can make you pretty hungry. Hopefully the ocean won’t look like this when we get there, because I need a day in the water.
See you around!

It was COLD, and freaking windy, yesterday. Only a little overcast, though.
Oh, and Zoltar is on the bayfront in Newport. In front of a candy place.

Surfing has always looked so fun. But I have never tried it. Which I have always felt was kind of sad seeing as how both my parents grew up in Huntington Beach doing nothing but surfing.
Have lots of fun and hope it’s a bright and sunny day for you!

I did the same thing this weekend. The beach was the place to be. FYI, you’ve won a little award. See my site for details.

lewis, I’ve been enjoying it immensely.
adena, it was cloudy in the morning but that burned off, and miraculously there was NO WIND!
kapgar, it’s not so hard, I’ll teach you!
hilly, no worries, I passed out in the car on the way back.
sarah, it’s never too late to get started.
black belt mama, wow, thanks! I don’t know what to do with all these awards lately, I feel so unworthy.
winter, the water was much cooler than what you have in California, too.

Where is that? Looks like Oswald West – my absolute favorite place anywhere on the Oregon Coast. Is it? If it is, I’m jealous.

Lisa & Atomic Bombshell — the beach was great, although I took a great deal of sun to the face.
Brandon, that picture was actually taken at Arcadia Beach, a bit to the north, although I do have pictures of Oswald West here.

I just tried surfing Monday. What fun, but how hard! I’m so sore today I can’t lift my cup of tea without ouching!
Hope you had a ball!

You have to admit, catch a wave and you are indeed sitting on top of the world. What an experience! gah, but I wish I was surfing today instead of working at my stupid job.

Looks like fun. I love the beach…..I did get down to our local beach hear last week when the sun was out. I’ve only surfed once or twice in Hawaii and it was fun. Now, I’m dying to scuba dive again….I will get to soon. Hope you had a nice time at the coast.
