I sure love this city of mine, although I do not love the part where it has been no warmer than 28 degrees in the part where I live for the past week or so. They say we can expect to get a thaw by Friday but I’ll believe it when it happens. Meanwhile, my apartment has no heat, but I think there’s enough whiskey to get us through the next few days.
In the meantime, I guess it’s kinda pretty.
For those of you that celebrate Christmas I hope you have a good one tomorrow.

it is pretty, isnt it. i can’t believe you have no heat! don’t you have a space heater? what kind of craziness is that? you should put a burn barrel in your front room and get a brown bag for your whiskey. that would really set the mood.

Why don’t you have heat? Good god! Hope the whiskey keeps you warm enough.

Oh my word…I’m tempted to send you a space heater for Christmas! Or or, an electric blankie robe thingie. Or to tell you to go out and find a body to snuggle with to keep you warm!

I guess I should clarify: I have a small space heater and an electric blanket in my room, which would be great if I loved nothing better than to lie in bed for a week straight. It just would be nice if the rest of the apartment were heated so that I could, you know, not nearly die of exposure if I want to use the kitchen.

About a week ago I came home to 48 F in the house. The furnace had quit … the next morning it was 45. I got it fixed the day before it dropped to 2 F outside.
While 45 doesn’t sound bad, it is a bit cool on any parts of the body left out from under the electric blanket.
I hope you get your heat fixed soon.

I certainly hope your heat’s been fixed by now. That would qualify as an emergency this time of year, and your landlord should really get someone to fix it same day, within 24 hrs at most.
lovely pictures though.
Aside from no heat, I hope you’re having a marvelous non-theist winter interlude! (or theist holiday if you prefer.)
