A great day indeed, historic day, interesting day…

Unfortunately, the real issue has not been addressed; the fact that the people of America have been duped (yet again) by another politician (politics as usual) with the biggest (and spendiest) advertisement campaign ever.

Now, as he is surrounding himself with a cabinet and officers from previous presidential terms, it seems that it truly has become politics as usual and the same old people are doing the same old things. The only difference is that the one who gets blamed/accredited with all the glory &/or infamy during his administration is younger, edgier, and blacker.

Great things can still happen, but it is up to us, not one man with power.

-Because not everyone can agree.

I slept through the inauguration. But to be fair I was in San Fransisco Monday and didn’t get home until like 2:30 or 3am Tuesday. Then I had class a few hours later.

But my Mom watched it though, she said it was good.

For the first time in my memory — and I’m old, so I have a long memory — I feel inspired by a political event. Also, like maybe I’m not alone. It feels good, and I hope it ultimately makes a difference. That WE, all of us, ultimately make a difference. I guess time will tell, eh?

Seriously though, you and I are of the exact same view here. I just could not handle one more “old white man” running this country. More of the same, more of the same and I was less than enthralled every time. Here we have President who is different…he admits to inhaling, he’s more in touch with the people, and he uses a Mac for goodness sake! I don’t think he’s a miracle worker…not yet. I do love the change and the chance for *me* to feel hopeful yet again.
