Iron Fist

I finally got my site up and running, and while I’ll still be making changes to it regularly, it’s mostly where I want it to be.

A few things about the new version of my site, in no particular order:

• The theme has changed, obviously. Props out to my main Moscow homeboy Klaus Gena for loaning me the use of his Loser theme for the previous incarnation of my site. While it was a worthy theme, and suited my needs at the time, I’ve moved on to this current Head theme by Priss, which has a little more functionality. You should totally check out Klaus’ site, especially if you can read Dutch and want to know what’s going on in Mother Russia’s capital.
• Commenting is now enabled, for anyone who wants to let me know what they think about a particular post. You need to register and sign in before you can leave comments. Don’t worry, I’m not connected to some massive Homeland Security database or anything, and I’m not going to sell your information. I’m way too lazy to set anything like that up. Your info just goes into the MySQL database I have setup to run my site.
• If you have a personal website that you want me to link to, let me know and I’ll add you.
• I’m using the Gravatar plugin, so if you want your little avatar photo to follow you around everywhere you post on my site, register for free at Gravatar.com. And then we’ll iron out any bugs, since I’m still figuring out how that’s supposed to work.
• I’ve got RSS 2.0 and Atom feeds for my site. If you’re using Firefox (and really, you should be using Firefox), you can Live Bookmark my site. Also available for Firefox are the Sage and Wizz RSS extensions to help you manage all your feeds. Any aggregator will work really; in fact, you can even plug my feed URL into your Google homepage and My Yahoo!, or your Gmail webclips, and get your daily dose of awesome delivered to you that way. Of course, if you just want to set my ass-kicking site as your homepage, obviously I have no problem with that. In fact, I salute your good taste!

I think that’s all the news I can think of for now. There will be more changes made as I gain familiarity with hacking WordPress, and giving my site a more custom feel. In the meantime, look around and enjoy.
