This is probably one of the most gorgeous and exotic flowers I’ve seen.
I’m not entirely sure what it is, but it grows on a vine, and I walk by it every morning on my way to work. I brought my camera with me one morning when the sun was out, and felt like sharing it with you.

Aren’t they beautiful? It’s a passion flower. And (courtesy of the encyclopedia): “When Christian missionaries discovered it, they likened it to symbols of the Crucifixion. The 72 radial filaments represent the Crown of Thorns. The ten petals and sepals represent the ten faithful apostles. The top 3 stigmata represent the 3 nails and the lower 5 anthers represent the 5 wounds.”
Plus: “The fresh or dried leaves are used to make an infusion, a tea that is used to treat insomnia, hysteria, and epilepsy, and is also valued for its painkilling properties. The flower has only traces of these chemicals, but the leaves and the roots of some species contain more and have been used to enhance the effects of mind-altering drugs.”
So can we make you responsible for bringing the dried leaves to TC08?

I’ve got my images turned off ’cause I’m at work, but I assume we’re looking at the PCP plant, right?
