in the beginning
YouTube’s first incarnation was not as wildly successful as the one you all know today.
It’s Friday, people, go out and have fun.

I was real close to writing a post today, this close, but you know what? It’s HOT out. And I don’t have AC, and my room is freaky and science-defying, it’s consistently colder than the outdoors in the winter and warmer in the summer.
Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe I’ll come up with something suitably embarrassing for Friday. Stay tuned.
In the meantime, for no particular reason, Mr Spock singing about hobbits:
I’m back from my event-filled vacation, and since anything that happened more than two days ago is pretty much old news at Internet speeds, I’m not going to do much of a recap of all the things I did, especially since you can find great ones here and here and here and here (and I’m sure others that I’ve missed but I got tired of writing out ‘here’ and making hyperlinks). I had a great time seeing old friends and new ones, and revisiting places I used to know growing up. Oh, and I sat through an earthquake this morning! I haven’t done that in years. Also I did some driving. At night:
Pictures coming later — I have plenty of Comic-Con and other assorted places around San Diego.
So I’m behind on my self-imposed deadlines again. Whatever.
Fortunately I ate something like seven pounds of fresh blueberries over the weekend, which I think antioxidized my addled wits and left me capable of finally writing something. All this fruit did not, however, cause my pee to change color. I confess a small amount of disappointment about this.
MOVING ON, NOW…
I’ve more or less finished fixing everything that went wrong with my site when I moved it to a new host and decided to upgrade the software. Being an early adopter isn’t all that great: WordPress 2.5 has been okay so far, but if you haven’t upgraded yet do yourself a favor and wait until 2.5.1 comes out, which I’m sure will be in a week or two.
Also, a number of the pictures that I host here at the site were corrupted when I FTP’d them to the server the first time around. They have now been re-uploaded with the undamaged originals. So, whoever was around here last Tuesday or so and dug up my old TequilaCon research post, the pictures aren’t completely demolished anymore.
More coming soon…
